MUSICIANS EARPLUGS HOW-TO-GUIDE
Tips for Proper Use of Hearing Protection
Choose the Right Protection:
- Select hearing protection, such as earplugs or earmuffs, based on your level of noise exposure and your specific needs. At Sound Access, we are happy to help you find the best hearing protection for your hearing health needs.
Proper Fit
- Make sure your hearing protection is a good fit and proper seal with no leaks. If using earplugs, ensure that they are fit deep enough in the ear canal to offer proper protection.
Consistent Use:
- Wear hearing protection consistently in noisy environments, whether at concerts, on the job, or during recreational activities.
Tips for Cleaning Earbuds, AirPods, Hearing Aids, and In-Ear Monitors
Regular Cleaning:
- Clean the earpieces regularly to remove earwax and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for the exterior and a gentle brush for the mesh, vents, and openings.
- When cleaning the opening of earpieces, be careful not to push any wax or debris further down into the opening.
- You can also use Audiowipes to gently clean and disinfect the surface of your earpieces.
- At Sound Access we offer cleaning services to deep clean your earbuds, AirPods, hearing aids, and in-ear monitors. Periodic deep cleanings can increase the longevity of your devices and help you avoid costly repairs or replacements.
Avoid Moisture:
- Keep your earpieces dry. Moisture can affect the performance and longevity of the devices.
- At Sound Access we offer dryers that are safe on the electronics of your hearing devices if moisture build-up becomes a problem.
Our Number One Tip for Using Hearing Aids
Daily Wear Routine:
- Establish a daily routine for wearing and caring for your hearing aids.
